Deuce to 7 Lowball – How to play guide
Another version of Lowball Poker is 2-7 triple draw.
The game works similar to Ace-5 Lowball. However in this game straights and flushes count as high hands, so the best possible hand is 7-5-4-3-2 with no flush.
Before any cards are dealt the two players to the left of the dealer make their forced bets which are known as ‘blinds’. The player on the immediate left of the dealer makes a ‘small blind’ followed by the next player to the left making their ‘big blind’ (This blind equals double the amount of the small blind.).The minimum bet in hand is the amount of the big blind.
Once each player has been dealt their cards the first of 4 betting rounds begins. Players have three options: they can fold their hand, call the big blind (a bet equal to the big blind) or raise (bet a higher amount).
After each player has made their decisions the players left in the game have the chance to change their hands by swapping as many cards as they please with the dealer. If a player wishes to keep all of their original cards they are well within the rules.
Now comes a second round betting in which players have the option to check, raise or fold. This is followed by another chance to draw (replace any cards they wish with the dealer). The third round of betting now commences and then the third and final draw.
Now there is a final round of betting followed by the ‘showdown’, at the showdown the player with the lowest hand takes the entire pot!
